The emissions generated by watching 30 minutes of Netflix (1.6 kg of CO2) is the same as driving almost four miles in the coming decade, a significant risk exists that rapidly growing demand for information services—and compute-intensive applications like AI in particular—will begin to outpace the efficiency gains that have
