A Cornish-based technology company is tapping into the county’s burgeoning tech sector to develop a new service as a revolutionary solution to help organisations manage compliance to regulations and standards.
Aimed at significantly reducing the cost and complexity of compliance with a wide range of information, security, employment and sector specific regulations and standards, the service has just started development and is set to launch to the market early in 2017.
The new service, Gydeline, is led by business partners Mike Saville and Russell Cosway. Mike’s career has included senior roles with BT Global Services and IBM and Russell has more than 30 years’ experience in local government information and communications technology and as a former regional head of ICT for BT.
The service is being developed in collaboration with embedded software specialists Bluefruit from Redruth, with the user experience design (UX) being delivered by Truro-based G+CO. The team is further enhanced by DCA PR and marketing from Bodmin, illustrator and local artist Harriet Teagle and legal and accountancy services also from Cornish companies.
Revolutionary Solution
“Regulation and compliance are issues which affect every business from the smallest to the largest,” explains Mike Saville.
“Our aim is to make compliance very simple, make it affordable for small and medium sized organisations and to allow them to focus on their core business.”
Paul Massey, Director of Bluefruit said: “We specialise in writing the highest possible quality software, this used to mean all our customers were out of county, but we’re finding more and more tech businesses in Cornwall share this value-generative view.”
“Compliance is traditionally viewed as a necessary evil and we want to change that perception with our revolutionary solution. This is a massive opportunity for both ourselves and the partnership of Cornish companies we are building” said Saville.
Tom Gamblin, Creative Director at Evident Agency (formally G+CO), said; “Designing the user experience of a web-based product like Gydeline is complex, it’s a service that people will be accessing regularly, so it needs to be easy to use as well as easy on the eye. We’re drawing on our experience of working with some of the country’s leading brands to support the Gydeline team and its partners bring this exciting new product to market.”
